Today, TVG is licensed to do business in the United States and operates openly in more than 30 states. Betting Review

Personal experience shaped my TVG review and my conclusion that it does many things well, but it is not a perfect betting site. Some of the things TVG does well is cover every major racetrack in the United States, provide worthwhile promotions, pay out winning wagers at full track odds and offer every type of horse bet that you would find in person at the actual track.

What’s missing from TVG is much coverage of international tracks. The focus here is clearly on North American tracks. They do accept wagers on some of the bigger UK, European and Australian tracks, but the full list of tracks maxes out at about 150. Compare this to TwinSpires which covers 300+ tracks and you can see TVG could use some major improvement in that regard.

Apart from the limited international offering, TVG does an admirable job at offering new wager and introducing fresh promotions. If you want to place a bet, all you have to do is log in and choose the track of your choice or select from a menu of today’s scheduled races. TVG takes wagers as small as $0.10 and as high as $9,999 as long as the host track is willing to book bets that large (all wagers taken online are comingled with wagers taken at the physical track location).

Live video is offered for free up to an extent. You begin each month with 10 hours’ worth of racing video. After that, each $25 worth of wagers placed earns an additional hour of free live racing videos that month. You can also purchase 10 more hours of video for a flat $3 fee if you use up your free 10 hours before the end of the month.

One of the major strong points of the TVG experience is a litany of handicapping tools and handicapping advice articles. You can view past performances, racing forms and expert picks ahead of each race at no cost to you. In the past while betting at other racing sites, I have sometimes found myself logging in to TVG just to take advantage of their handicapping tips.
