The modern era of US sports betting includes FanDuel Sportsbook as one of the top brands in the industry. FanDuel’s expansion from DFS to sports betting began with a launch of FanDuel Sportsbook New Jersey just over two years ago.
Bettors in ten states now enjoy legal wagering at FanDuel Sportsbook, with Virginia and Michigan the lastest to join that list.
FanDuel Sportsbook offers both desktop and mobile app versions of the platform and operates as one of the best choices for online sports betting in the US.

Visit: FanDuel Sportsbook to claim $1,000 risk-free bet offer
I would rank this offer third when compared to the other competitors in the market:
Sportsbook | Bonus Offer For New Players |
---|---|
FanDuel Sportsbook | $1,000 risk-free bet |
DraftKings Sportsbook | 20% deposit match up to $1,000 |
FOX Bet | $500 risk-free bet |
BetRivers | 100% deposit match up to $250 |
FanDuel’s welcome promotion offers a bigger upside versus the risk-free bet offered at FOX Bet. Both DraftKings and BetRivers offer deposit match bonuses, however.
Deposit match offers function as bonuses that are more player-friendly, and the BetRivers 100% deposit match gets the nod as the best offer on this list.
FanDuel Sportsbook: Where Can I Play?
FanDuel Sportsbooks offers legal mobile sports wagering in the following states:
New Jersey – FanDuel’s run to the top of the US sports betting industry started with the launch of FanDuel Sportsbook New Jersey in September 2018. New Jersey hosts the nation’s most competitive iGaming market, with online sports betting, casinos, and poker available to players in the Garden State.
Pennsylvania – Like New Jersey, FanDuel stands as the No. 1 choice for mobile sports betting in Pennsylvania. Online sports betting went live in the Keystone State in May 2019. Mobile casino gaming and poker are legal in Pennsylvania as well.
Illinois – FanDuel Sportsbook debuted in Illinois in August 2020. The Land of Lincoln represents one of the fastest-growing sports betting markets in the US, and FanDuel has emerged as one of the most popular choices for online sports betting in the state.
Indiana – Online sportsbooks began to launch in Indiana in October 2019. FanDuel Sportsbook operates in the Hoosier State as one of the top choices for mobile sports betting.
Iowa – Like Indiana and Illinois, Iowa represents another rapidly-growing sports betting market in the Midwest. FanDuel Sportsbook debuted in Iowa in July 2020, making it one of the newest markets for FanDuel.
Colorado – FanDuel Sportsbook was among the first wave of Colorado sportsbooks to go live on May 1, 2020. Colorado appears poised to host one of the most competitive online sports betting markets in the US.
West Virginia – The emerging West Virginia sports betting market includes FanDuel and DraftKings as the two most popular online sportsbooks in the state. West Virginia allows legal online sports betting, casinos, and poker.
Tennessee – Tennessee joined the ranks of legal sports betting states in November 2020. Tennessee’s unique iGaming laws allow all sportsbooks to operate as online-only platforms, not ties to a land-based casino license.
Michigan – FanDuel Sportsbook launched in Michigan on Jan. 22. FanDuel Michigan is offering bettors $100 in free credits just for registering with the sportsbook app. This offer includes $50 in sports bets and $50 in casino credits.
Michigan Bettors: Claim $100 in free bets at FanDuel Michigan
Virginia – Like Michigan, Virginia’s mobile sports betting market launched in January 2021. FanDuel Sportsbook debuted in Virginia on Jan. 21 as the first mobile sportsbook going live in the Old Dominion.
FanDuel Sportsbook: How Can I Play?
Using FanDuel Sportsbook For Desktop
Bettors in states with legal access to FanDuel Sportsbook can access the platform directly through a desktop browser. All major web browsers, including Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Internet Explorer, can be used to play at FanDuel Sportsbook.
Both PC and Mac users can find FanDuel Sportsbook online. Using the desktop version of FanDuel Sportsbook allows you to bet with no download required.
The FanDuel Sportsbook homepage can be accessed from anywhere within one of the states in which FanDuel legally offers sports betting.
You can still look at the betting menu and promotions offered at FanDuel Sportsbook if you’re elsewhere in the US. To deposit and place bets, however, you must be located in one of the states in which FanDuel Sportsbook legally operates.
Once you’ve navigated to the homepage, clicking on the “Join Now” button at the top right of the page brings up the list of states in which you can legally wager at FanDuel Sportsbook.
After selecting your state, the sportsbook will use geolocation technology to determine your location. You must be located in one of the states listed to place bets, as the geolocation services will block bettors from playing outside of those states.
Using FanDuel Sportsbook For Apple iOS Devices
FanDuel Sportsbook offers a mobile app for Apple iOS devices that brings all of the features of the desktop version to your iPhone or iPad.
The FanDuel Sportsbook app for iOS devices can be found at the App Store and downloaded for free. Like the desktop version, you must be located in a state where FanDuel Sportsbook legally operates in order to place bets.
The biggest difference between the desktop platform and the mobile app is the condensed screen space associated with using a mobile device. Some of the sports offered at FanDuel Sportsbook might be harder to find on the mobile device.
The upside to playing on a mobile app, however, comes from the true freedom to place bets from your mobile device anywhere in the state. No matter where you are, you can always place bets if you have access to a WiFi connection.
Using FanDuel Sportsbook For Android Devices
Like the iOS version of the FanDuel Sportsbook app, the Android app offers the full range of betting services offered on the desktop platform. Android users can find the FanDuel Sportsbook app as a free download, but the process to install the app is a bit different for Android devices.
The Google Play store doesn’t allow for downloads of real-money gambling apps, so you won’t find FanDuel Sportsbook there. You can, however, download the app directly from the FanDuel Sportsbook website.
The address fanduel.com/android allows you to download the Android app directly from the FanDuel Sportsbook website. You can start by navigating to that address from your Android device, then downloading the app to your phone.
From there, you’ll have access to the FanDuel Sportsbook Android app.
FanDuel Sportsbook: Depositing And Cashing Out
Deposit Options At FanDuel Sportsbook
- Visa/Mastercard Debit And Credit Cards – Debit/credit cards offer instant access to funds on your sportsbook account after making a deposit. This method does get turned back by the issuing bank at some frequency, however.
- FanDuel Play+ Prepaid Card – You can apply for this card on the sportsbook’s website. The card automatically attaches itself to the FanDuel Sportsbook account. Funds can be put on the card with Visa, Mastercard, or ACH.
- PayPal – PayPal deposits go through nearly 100% of the time, making this payment processor one of the most reliable ways to fund your FanDuel Sportsbook account.
- Casino Cage – Only available in states where FanDuel Sportsbook operates under a land-based casino license partnership. You can visit the cashier’s cage at the casino licensing FanDuel Sportsbook, and make your deposit in person.

Withdrawal Options At FanDuel Sportsbook
Many of the deposit options listed above can also be used to withdraw funds from FanDuel Sportsbook. Most of the following methods come with a turnaround time of 2-5 business days, with check by mail often taking much longer:
- PayPal
- Play+ Prepaid Card
- ACH/eCheck
- Casino cage
- Check by mail
Where FanDuel Sportsbook Gets It Right
User Experience And Mobile Platform
FanDuel was the first PA sportsbook to offer both an iOS and Android app, and they don’t disappoint. FanDuel is an extremely user-friendly platform that is at the top in terms of accessibility.
The app allows players to quickly slide to the right or left at the top of their device to find and select the sport they are looking for.
FanDuel has a large selection of live bets available for a variety of sports. You can easily place them through the “Live” feature on the top left corner.
A “Popular” tab gives users a quick view of some of the most popular events taking place that day to ensure they are getting in on the action.
Fun Promotions And Odds Boosts
Along with the initial deposit bonus, FanDuel Sportsbook also offers some incredible promotions periodically.
They include options like:
Daily Odds Boosts
Inflated odds on a particular side or total in an event gives players an advantage over the book. There is usually a betting limit associated with these, but they present incredible value to the bettor.
In the example below, FanDuel was offering to increase the Philadelphia 76ers spread vs. the Milwaukee Bucks by one point for every 1,000 bets placed. With an NBA spread getting that large it is essentially free money (an earlier NCAAB promotion boosted the spread all the way up to one side being +101.5)!
It doesn’t get much easier than that.
Insurance
Another promotion FanDuel Sportsbooks offers is insurance, which comes in a few different forms. Parlay insurance, for example, goes into effect when a player places a parlay wager consisting of five or more legs.
A parlay is a combination of bets placed together that must all win for the wager to be won. If one of the bets (legs) loses, the entire wager loses. The player gets a max $25 refund per each eligible wager (four eligible wagers per sportsbook account holder per day) in the case of loss.
However, if four of the five legs in your parlay win, you get all your money back. Each individual leg of the parlay must have odds greater than or equal to -200.
Site Credits
Each day, players get a site credit bonus equal to 10 percent of daily net losses or 10 percent of daily net winnings up to $50.
Early Cash Out
This feature allows you to settle a wager for a certain value before the event you have bet on has finished. Your bet is not always eligible for early cashout. However, it is a great feature for someone who isn’t as confident in their bet as they were initially. It’s also a way to take the offered money and guarantee a profit.
A great feature, especially for the higher limit players.
Variety
FanDuel Sportsbook features bets on all major US sports and definitely backs up its slogan “More Ways to Win” with a multitude of options to cash in.
Along with betting the traditional sides and totals for a particular game, you can select the game or event you want to wager on and open up a new screen with an entire list of additional items. Here you can bet on selections such as player props, game props, in-game parlays, and so much more.
If there is something you are looking to bet on, you can find it at FanDuel Sportsbook.
Testing Support Options At FanDuel Sportsbook
Fanduel Free $500
FanDuel Sportsbook offers 24/7 support via email and live chat. The phone number isn’t listed on the FanDuel app, but it is 877-689-0662.
In the times where I personally had to call FanDuel support, I found myself on hold for long durations, sometimes even being hung up on in the process.
The live chat is a good option, but depending on your inquiry, these options may not be the most efficient. Asking a question through live chat on desktop usually generates a quick response, and is the best way to go if you have an inquiry not covered by the FanDuel Sportsbook FAQ.
Using the email option pings back with a response that your request could take 3-5 days to get a response. With this in mind, you’re best off using the live chat option whenever possible.
The mobile app live chat loses points for its frustrating user experience. Once you’ve asked a question using the live chat on the mobile app, you must keep your phone unlocked and on the support page screen until you get an answer.
If you don’t do this, you’ll find that you’re back at the start of the live chat process when you unlock your phone. Essentially the only way to maintain your connection with support is to continuously keep the FanDuel live chat window open on your phone, and that interface could use improvement.
